Niccolo Paganini is one of the most talented violinists that has ever played or composed for this instrument in human history, and the recordings in this box set are absolutely first rate! The Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo does a great job accompanying and providing the soundscape/launching pad for violinist Alexandre Dubach's outstanding virtuoso solos. He plays these concertos with complete authority and in outstanding fashion: at times smoothly & elegantly while at other times a bit dryly with just enough gritty roughness to bring out all of the best qualities of his instrument. These compositions are amongst the most technically challenging works ever written for violin and to have them all here digitally recorded & in one set at such a bargain price is delightful! Easily and highly recommended box set that runs just over 3 1/2 hours on three discs.
