The Magna Carta Document
The Magna Carta was originally written because of disagreements between Pope Innocent III, King John, and his English barons about the rights of the King. In the Magna Carta, the King was required to renounce certain rights, respect legal procedures, and accept that his will could be limited by the law. It protected certain rights of the English citizens.
