Penny Gardner did a wonderful job in simplifying the basic over-all principles of Charlotte Mason in this book. This is one book that I often recommend to others who are wanting to know a basic idea of Charlottle Mason's beliefs and teaching styles, and one that anyone can pick up and get the basics from, simply and thoroughly enough to know whether or not they want to further study more about her, or just have a basic idea of who she was.
