Where Poppies Grow: A World War I Companion
by Linda Granfield Author
A wonderful collection of photos, letters, and stories from World War I. Does a great job of relating the different human aspects of the war without getting bogged down in a lot of politics. Well-written captions and well-chosen momentos put a human face on war, yet in an appropriate, gentle way without sensationalizing. Includes many Canadian photos.
