Excellent for intelligent Bible Study

Reviewed by Parent/Teacher

At last! an intelligently written story version of the bible, both old and new testament. Each story covers two pages, with beautifully rendered color drawings accompanying each story. My daughter (5) asks many thoughtful questions from the drawings alone, and loves to sit alone with the book carefully examining the pictures. The writing by Selena Hastings is detailed, clear, mature and desciptive. It is not over-simplified or over-dramatized, nor does it offer the simpering "goody goody" style adopted by so many bible stories for children. Children as young as 4 will gain a lot from this book, and it will be of interest all the way up to ages 15+. The illustrations, maps and accompanying side snippets about life and customs will engross your child and offer a vividness and immediacy to the life and times presented. This book is available on Amazon in a small format and also large - buy the large, as you can see the pictures better.
