A Young Macedonian in the Army of Alexander the Great [SCM]

by Alfred Church Author

An excellent living look at the intrigues and interaction of rulers and soldiers and battles during that time as you follow the story of Alexander the Great through the eyes of one of his soldiers. Includes tie-ins to Jews in Babylon and Palestine, as well as dealings with Persia and Egypt. (Note: Chapter 23 contains a scene in which the two chief characters of the story visit a Babylonian magician. The fortune-telling scene is brief and accompanied by the characters' doubts about its authenticity. A valuable look at what was a stronghold in that culture but approached with healthy skepticism and balance.)
